NEW YORK, NY (July 22, 2013) – ADCOLOR® welcomes CNN’s Don Lemon as host of the 2013 ADCOLOR® Awards, presented at the ADCOLOR® Awards and Industry Conference, September 19-21, 2013 at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. The ADCOLOR® Awards honor professionals of color, diversity champions and companies who work together to further diversity and inclusion efforts in the advertising, marketing, media and public relations industries.
Don Lemon anchors CNN Newsroom during weekend prime-time and serves as a correspondent across CNN/U.S. programming. He has reported and anchored on-the-scene for CNN from many breaking news stories, including the Boston marathon bombing (2013), the Philadelphia building collapse (2013), the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting (2012), the Colorado Theater Shooting (2012), the death of Whitney Houston, the Inaugural of the 44th President in Washington, D.C., the death of Michael Jackson (2009), Hurricane Gustav in Louisiana (2008), the Minneapolis bridge collapse (2007) and the George Zimmerman trial (2013). Lemon has won several industry awards, including being named as one of the Ebony Power 150: the most influential Blacks in America in 2009.
As previously announced, Nick Cannon will be honored with the ADCOLOR® All-Star Award for his achievements in music, movies, television and radio and charitable endeavors, Nick embodies the “Rise Up. Reach Back,” mission of ADCOLOR®.
ADCOLOR® Awards honorees are nominated by colleagues or mentors, as well agencies and corporations, for awards in six different categories. Honorees were announced live on May 28 at ADCOLOR® Live! presented by Time Warner and Publicis Groupe. This year’s honorees will be recognized at the ADCOLOR® Awards and Industry Conference, which will take place September 19-21, 2013 at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
